Community Wildfire Protection Plans

Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) are community-driven plans that are developed to provide guidance and direction in creating a fire-adapted community. CWPP planning assists communities in establishing priorities for protecting life, property and infrastructure. The plans can take a variety of forms, but at a minimum must:

  1. Be developed collaboratively
  2. Identify and prioritize areas and methods for hazardous fuel-reduction treatments
  3. Recommend measures to reduce the ignitability of structures throughout the community

The Living With Fire program and its partners have prepared CWPP guides and templates to assist communities throughout Nevada in the CWPP process. You can download the guides along with the appropriate template and Risk Hazard Assessment below. Please Note** Due to accessibility issues, we are unable to post a CWPP form on the website, but if you would like a CWPP form to help you, please Contact Us for more information about obtaining one.
