The Lake Tahoe Basin will have its very own Wildfire Awareness Week in 2010! Collaborating residents and agencies have decided to hold a Lake Tahoe Basin Wildfire Awareness Week from July 3 to July 11. California and Nevada traditionally hold their Wildfire Awareness Weeks in early May, but this proved difficult for Tahoe residents, since many are present only later in the summer. We invite all Lake Tahoe Basin residents and visitors to participate in activities during Awareness Week, to help protect their homes and communities from the embers that cause destruction of many homes during wildfires.
